Ramayana Unveils New Glimpses of Sita’s Battle, Ravana’s War and Global Vision
Ramayana's new glimpse video reveals Sita's battle scenes, Ravana's Shiv Tandav and more. Ranbir Kapoor, Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari discuss the film's global vision, scale and worldwide release plans.
With Ramayana now entering full-scale marketing mode, another video related to the film has surfaced. At around 3 am on the morning of October 17, the film’s official X account shared a glimpse video featuring producer Namit Malhotra, actor Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari. The three spoke about the film’s global vision, scale and ambition.
The latest video includes several scenes that differ from those featured in the trailer. Among the new visuals are glimpses of Mata Sita participating in battle. While Lord Ram fought 14,000 demons, Sita also took part in the conflict, as shown in the video. Another scene depicts her teaching young girls martial arts and weapon skills in Mithila.
The video also features additional scenes of Lord Ram. Months ago, when the film’s first Ram teaser was released, a demon shown in it drew criticism from viewers who felt that the character did not look Indian. The latest video features a revised version of that entire scene.
Other glimpses include Ravana’s battle in the city of Kubera and scenes of him performing the Shiv Tandav. These visuals offer audiences a further look at the film’s portrayal of its central characters and the scale of its action sequences.
What Ranbir Kapoor, Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari Said About Ramayana
In the video, Ranbir Kapoor speaks about the responsibility of telling the story of Ramayana, saying that the team is trying to present it as accurately and effectively as possible.
Producer Namit Malhotra then discusses the story, explaining that it contains everything that makes it grand and expansive, with something for everyone. Director Nitesh Tiwari agrees, saying that people across the world can relate to Ramayana because it contains the story of a father-son relationship, a beautiful love story and the journey of an underdog.
Speaking about the opportunity to create a project of this scale, Malhotra says that when the opportunity came his way, he felt that the film needed to be made. According to him, some films are not simply made; they come into existence on their own.
Ranbir Kapoor also praises Malhotra for bringing a scale, technology and talent to the Bollywood industry that are rarely seen in the country. The producer reveals that around 10,000 people from across the world are working on Ramayana.
Nitesh Tiwari says he had complete faith in Malhotra’s company, DNEG, and its ability to deliver a film of such enormous scale.
